Location: South of Solihull, West Midlands
Salary: £32,000 to £38,000, with £36,000 to £40,000 available for someone bringing strong groundworks and site preparation experience.
Job type: Permanent, PAYE
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist in play and sports surfacing who are offering a genuine long-term opportunity to join a practical, experienced team delivering high-quality outdoor projects across the UK.
If you are an experienced wetpour installer or screeder who takes pride in accurate levels, neat edges and a high-quality finish, this could be a very good opportunity to join a small team where your practical experience will be valued.
You may currently be working as a Wetpour Installer, Wetpour Screeder, Playground Wetpour Installer, Rubber Safety Surfacing Installer, Safety Surfacing Installer, Playground Surfacing Installer, Sports Surfacing Installer, Wetpour Troweller, Rubber Crumb Installer, EPDM Installer, SBR Installer or Surfacing Operative.
What you will be doing
- Work alongside the Wetpour Installation Team Leader and the wider installation team on projects across the UK.
- Prepare materials, tools, edges and work areas before installation begins.
- Mix rubber granules and binder and support the pour sequence.
- Screed, level and hand-trowel wetpour to the required depth and finish.
- Create neat joins, edges, coloured sections, patterns and marked-out areas.
- Support base checks, ground preparation and site set-up, including operating a digger or dumper where required.
- Help keep projects organised, safe and finished to a high standard.
What we are looking for
- Proven hands-on wetpour, rubber safety-surfacing or closely related specialist-surfacing experience.
- Strong screeding, trowelling, levelling and finishing ability.
- A current CSCS card, relevant current digger and dumper tickets, and practical experience operating the equipment.
- A practical, reliable approach and the ability to work well as part of a small team.
- Willingness to travel countrywide and stay away when projects require it.
Experience that would be useful
- Groundworks, drainage, base preparation, landscaping, resin-bound or polymeric surfacing experience, including confident use of diggers and dumpers.
- MUGA, playground, sports court, artificial-grass or thermoplastic-markings experience.
- A full UK driving licence would be useful but is not essential.
What is on offer
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Paid hotel accommodation and a daily subsistence allowance when staying away.
- For longer stays, Airbnb or similar self-contained accommodation may be arranged, giving you a kitchen, living room and bedroom rather than relying only on a hotel room.
