Wireman

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Wireman on a 4 Month Contract based in Scotland.

Role Summary

We're looking for an experienced wireman to join the electrical team on a major new 275/132kV substation build in Argyll. The substation is part of a wider programme to strengthen the Scottish transmission network and connect more renewable energy. The main buildings are up and the work is now in the fit-out and installation phase.

Responsibilities

• Wiring and terminating control and protection panels, marshalling kiosks and junction boxes
• Installing and terminating multicore control cabling in the substation buildings and around the site
• Following wiring diagrams and cable schedules accurately
• Labelling, ferruling and tidying cables to a high standard
• Supporting testing and commissioning teams by fixing wiring faults and making changes
• Keeping within site rules, permits and safe systems of work

Requirements

• Proven experience as a wireman on a substation 
• Able to read and work from electrical drawings and schematics
• Experience wiring protection and control panels (high-voltage experience is a bonus)
• ECS Gold Card
• A current CSCS card, or equivalent card for the electrical trade
• Happy to work in a remote site environment and follow strict safety standards
