The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist to join an established, high-end bespoke joinery manufacturer based in Poole. 

Our client specialises in producing exceptional bespoke joinery, furniture and interior fit-out projects for prestigious hotels, restaurants, commercial spaces and luxury residential properties.

The successful candidate will work within a well-equipped manufacturing facility, operating a range of woodworking machinery to produce high-quality timber components ready for assembly and manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate woodworking machinery, including spindle moulders, surface planers, thicknessers, panel saws and crosscut saws.

• Machine solid timber and sheet materials to precise specifications.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and manufacturing instructions.

• Produce accurate components for bespoke joinery, furniture and interior fit-out projects.

• Inspect finished components to ensure quality and accuracy.

• Work closely with bench joiners and production teams to meet manufacturing deadlines.

• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Wood Machinist within a joinery, woodworking or furniture manufacturing environment.

• Confident setting and operating woodworking machinery

• Good knowledge of solid timber, hardwoods, softwoods and sheet materials.

• Ability to work accurately from technical drawings and cutting lists.

• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
