Working Foreman

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Working Foreman to join a school refurbishment project in Selston, Nottinghamshire.

Working for a well-established principal contractor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a straightforward refurbishment project within a school environment.

This is a genuinely hands-on role, so we're looking for someone with a trade background who is comfortable leading from the front. You'll be supervising a small number of subcontractors while also getting involved with the works whenever required to help keep the project on programme.

The Role

The project includes a range of refurbishment, structural remediation and minor civils works, including:

• Minor brickwork and blockwork
• Formwork
• Small civils works
• Exploratory and opening-up works
• General refurbishment works

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day running of the site.
• Coordinate subcontractors and daily site activities.
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks.
• Maintain site health & safety standards and daily records.
• Liaise with the Contracts Manager and subcontractors.
• Get involved with the works where required to help maintain programme.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Working Foreman or General Foreman.
• Trade background such as Joinery, Bricklaying, Groundworks, General Building or similar.
• SMSTS.
• CSCS Card.
• First Aid at Work.
• Experience delivering refurbishment or small civils projects.
• Previous experience on schools is desired
• Happy to remain hands-on throughout the project.
