Reporting to: Project Manager
Contract: Freelance initially, with the opportunity to move onto PAYE upon completion

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Working Foreman to join a £6M high-end residential project in Richmond.
This is an excellent opportunity for a carpentry-trained or carpentry-background Working Foreman with strong experience delivering high-end or super-prime residential projects. The successful candidate will play a key role on site, working closely with the Project Manager to coordinate trades, maintain programme and, most importantly, ensure the quality of workmanship and finishes are consistently to an exceptional standard.
This is a hands-on position and would suit someone who has progressed from a carpentry background into a supervisory/foreman capacity, rather than a purely managerial Site Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate the day-to-day running of the site.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors and specialist trades across the project.
Maintain a strong presence on site and ensure trades are working efficiently and to programme.
Provide hands-on support where required, particularly around carpentry, joinery and finishing works.
Monitor workmanship and ensure all works are completed to the required high-end residential standard.
Carry out regular inspections of works and identify issues before they become defects.
Take ownership of snagging, finishing and quality control throughout the project.
Liaise with the Project Manager regarding progress, quality, labour requirements and upcoming works.
Coordinate different trades to ensure interfaces between works are properly managed.
Ensure areas are completed to the required standard before moving onto subsequent stages.
Assist with sequencing and planning of works to maintain programme.
Maintain high standards of site organisation, cleanliness and presentation.
Work closely with specialist subcontractors, designers and the wider project team.
Ensure attention to detail is maintained across all aspects of the build.
Help drive the project through to completion and handover.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Working Foreman / Carpenter Foreman who has built their career within high-end residential construction.
You must have:
A strong carpentry background, with the ability to demonstrate hands-on experience.
Proven experience working on high-end, prime or super-prime residential projects.
Experience working on substantial residential refurbishments, new builds or fit-outs.
Strong knowledge of construction trades and the ability to effectively coordinate subcontractors.
An exceptional eye for detail and a genuine understanding of what constitutes a high-quality finish.
Strong snagging and finishing experience, with the ability to identify even minor defects.
The confidence to challenge trades when workmanship does not meet the required standard.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The ability to work closely with a Project Manager and support the wider site team.
A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
The ability to manage multiple trades while remaining focused on quality and programme.
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and understands that, within super-prime residential construction, the small details matter.
You should be:
Hands-on and technically capable.
Quality-driven and highly detail-oriented.
Confident managing and coordinating trades.
Calm and professional when working under programme pressure.
Proactive rather than reactive.
Well presented and comfortable working in a high-end client environment.
A strong communicator who can build effective relationships with subcontractors and the project team.
Someone who takes ownership of the finished product.
