Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a leading advanced manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Working Level III – Acid Etch professional.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering manufacturer supplying highly regulated industries where quality, precision and technical expertise are critical.

You'll be the technical authority for the Acid Etch process, taking ownership of inspection standards, certification, process improvement and personnel competency, while remaining hands-on in the operation when required.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be responsible for the technical leadership of the Acid Etch function, ensuring processes remain compliant with customer, industry and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the company's technical authority for Acid Etch inspection
  • Maintaining EN4179/NAS410 Level III certification and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards
  • Developing, reviewing and approving procedures, work instructions and inspection techniques
  • Providing technical support to production teams and customers
  • Training, mentoring and certifying Level I and II personnel
  • Conducting annual competency reviews and practical examinations
  • Leading internal audits and supporting NADCAP compliance
  • Auditing external suppliers and subcontractors
  • Driving continuous improvement across inspection methods, equipment and processes
  • Carrying out Acid Etch, window polishing, macro and micro inspections where required
About You

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise and the confidence to lead inspection standards within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • EN4179/NAS410 Level III certification in Acid Etch (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace or precision engineering inspection standards
  • Experience developing technical procedures and written practices
  • Knowledge of customer specifications, codes and contractual requirements
  • Experience training and certifying inspection personnel
  • Previous involvement with NADCAP and quality audits
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with production, engineering and customers
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving
