Works Manager – Major Infrastructure Project
Contract: ASAP – September 2027

We are recruiting an experienced Works Manager to join a major infrastructure project in Scotland. This is a long-term opportunity for a strong site leader to take responsibility for the management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams, including Foremen, General Foremen, direct labour and subcontractors. Accommodation is included.

The successful candidate will ensure site works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and HSEQ requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Foremen, General Foremen, direct labour and subcontractors.
- Ensure works comply with H&S legislation, approved RAMS and company procedures.
- Promote Zero Harm and maintain high standards of site safety.
- Ensure the correct level of competent resources are available to meet programme requirements.
- Plan and monitor site works, logistics, plant, materials and labour.
- Manage plant, tools and materials efficiently while minimising waste.
- Ensure Site Inductions, Daily Briefings, Toolbox Talks, Task Briefings and Short Interval Control meetings are delivered effectively.
- Maintain strong HSEQ and quality standards across all works.
- Ensure comprehensive daily records, reports and investigations are completed.
- Brief supervisors and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Carry out and oversee Black Hat assessments for site supervisors.
- Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure actions are implemented.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Works Manager or similar senior site management role.
Experience managing direct and subcontract workforces.
Previous experience within rail and/or highways environments is essential.
Valid Sentinel PTS card required.
Excellent Health & Safety awareness with a proven record of maintaining high safety standards.
Strong understanding and commitment to Zero Harm.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to make decisive decisions.
Strong programme, resource and logistics management experience.
Experience developing relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Knowledge of M&E works would be advantageous.
