Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced transport and logistics operation in Middlesbrough. This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an experienced administrator who has previously worked within the transport, logistics, fleet, or workshop environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting workshop operations, ensuring all administration is completed accurately and efficiently while helping to maintain compliance and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to the workshop management team.
  • Processing and maintaining vehicle maintenance records and documentation.
  • Scheduling vehicle inspections, servicing, MOTs, and repairs.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices.
  • Updating fleet management systems and internal databases.
  • Managing job cards, workshop paperwork, and service records.
  • Liaising with drivers, engineers, suppliers, and external contractors.
  • Ensuring compliance documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally.
  • Producing reports and supporting operational planning activities.
  • Assisting with stock control and parts administration where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous administration experience within a transport, logistics, fleet, or workshop environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using fleet management or workshop management systems.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of transport legislation and operator compliance standards.
