Are you an experienced HGV Workshop Controller, Workshop Manager or Fleet Supervisor looking for your next opportunity?

Our client is a well-established HGV transport company seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the day-to-day operation of their busy workshop. This role is ideal for someone who started their career on the tools and has progressed into a supervisory or management position. Applicants from both fleet and dealership backgrounds are welcome.

🔧 The Role

You'll oversee workshop operations, ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards while keeping the fleet compliant, roadworthy and available for service.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the HGV workshop
• Plan servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs
• Lead and support a team of HGV Technicians
• Ensure compliance with DVSA, MOT and health & safety standards
• Maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime
• Monitor workshop efficiency, budgets and KPIs
• Oversee parts stock and supplier relationships

🔧 About You

• Previous experience managing an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop
• Strong technical knowledge of HGV maintenance
• Good understanding of DVSA regulations and fleet compliance
• Excellent leadership, planning and organisational skills
• Relevant HGV or vehicle maintenance qualifications are desirable
• HGV licence advantageous but not essential
