We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable, family-run automotive workshop in Farnham, for the position of Workshop Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and experienced motor trade professional to lead a dedicated service team within a supportive, stable environment. The Workshop Controller role offers competitive remuneration, clear career progression, and a healthy work-life balance.

Benefits:
  • Competitive basic salary, dependent on experience
  • OTE up to £45,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday working hours from 8am to 6pm
  • No weekend work required
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Full-time permanent position with standard 45-hour week

  • Manage a team of 8 vehicle technicians
Duties as a Workshop Controller will include:
  • Oversee day-to-day workshop operations ensuring efficient workflow
  • Lead and motivate a team of vehicle technicians to meet service targets
  • Allocate work effectively and monitor progress throughout shifts
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and liaise with clients professionally
  • Ensure workshop compliance with health and safety standards
  • Manage work schedules to optimise productivity and profitability
  • Maintain high standards of workshop organisation and cleanliness
  • Support continuous team development through mentoring and coaching
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or in a comparable managerial role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Automotive technical understanding and industry knowledge
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
