We are representing a reputable family-run bodyshop group in Burgess Hill seeking an experienced Workshop Controller. Duties of the Workshop Controller:
  • Oversee daily workshop operations to ensure smooth workflow and high standards of quality control
  • Manage a team of workshop staff, setting daily and weekly targets to meet repair deadlines
  • Conduct morning toolbox meetings and coordinate logistics with the parts department
  • Maintain site safety standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Drive productivity to meet and exceed monthly performance targets
  • Liaise with external clients, including dealerships and ARC, to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Utilise simple IT systems and spreadsheets to track units, workflow, and productivity (no formal management systems necessary)
Requirements of the Workshop Controller:
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or similar leadership role within an automotive environment; individuals from car dealership backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities, with a focus on efficiency and quality
  • Good communication skills and the ability to motivate a team
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards within a workshop setting
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to drive performance and inspire a team
