Basic Salary: £33,000–£38,000
OTE: £41,590–£47,524 per annum (based on 5 hours overtime)
Due to an increasing workload, we are recruiting for a Forklift Engineer to join a well-established, employee-focused forklift and material handling company.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment, working independently across a variety of makes and models.Your Responsibilities
- Performing servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
- Independently stripping down and rebuilding a variety of forklift truck makes and models
- Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
- Carrying out LOLER inspections to ensure all equipment remains fully compliant
- Completing safety checks and pre-delivery inspections
- Responding to breakdowns and conducting reactive maintenance to reduce customer downtime
- Effectively organising and managing your workload and service schedule
- Accurately completing service reports and job sheets
- Communicating with parts departments to ensure the correct components are sourced and installed
- Minimum of 5 years' fork truck engineering experience
- Proven experience working as a Forklift Engineer, Material Handling Mechanic, Plant Fitter or similar
- Ability to independently strip down and rebuild a variety of forklift truck makes and models
- Proven experience working with diesel engines
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience carrying out LOLER inspections
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic Salary: £33,000–£38,000
- Performance-related bonus: up to £200 per month
- OTE with 5 hours' overtime per week: £39,190–£45,124 per annum
- Total OTE including bonus: £41,590–£47,524 per annum
- Overtime paid at 1.5x
- Company van or vehicle allowance of £250 per month
- Company pension scheme
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service
