Workshop Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)

Dursley – Workshop-based - Days, M-F – Full time, permanent – £30,000 to £40,000 DOE + benefits


Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit a Workshop Engineer to support refurbishment, maintenance and repair of specialist vehicles and associated equipment.

This role is suited to a practical, hands-on engineer with either mechanical or electrical experience, looking to develop within a specialist fleet environment.


Key responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical and/or electrical engineering work on specialist vehicles
  • Support full refurbishment and rebuild projects
  • Diagnose faults and carry out robust repairs
  • Install, modify and maintain vehicle systems and components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and job packs
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with a focus on safety and quality


The Person

  • Experience in a workshop or engineering environment
  • Mechanical and/or electrical skillset
  • Ability to fault-find and carry out repairs independently
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset


Desirable

  • Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
  • Experience with vehicles, plant or heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics or auto electrics
