Workshop Engineer / Mechanical Assembly

£35,000 per annum (rising to £38,000 after probation)

We are working with a growing engineering and manufacturing company based in Essex who are looking to recruit a Workshop Engineer to join their technical team.

This is a hands-on role working within an engineering workshop, supporting the assembly, testing and fault finding of electro-mechanical equipment used within commercial environments across the UK.

This opportunity would suit someone with a mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical background who enjoys practical engineering work and wants to develop their skills within a stable and growing business.

Workshop Engineer responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of engineering equipment and components
• Supporting electro-mechanical systems and hydraulic equipment
• Testing equipment and systems before installation
• Carrying out basic fault finding and reporting issues
• Supporting general workshop activities including stock organisation
• Completing workshop reports and technical documentation
• Assisting the engineering team with technical support when required
• Ensuring work is completed safely and in line with company procedures

Key Experience / Skills

• Background in mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical engineering
• Experience with mechanical assembly, maintenance or fault finding
• Practical hands-on engineering skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and pride in quality of work
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering workshops, mechanical assembly or equipment repair would be beneficial.
