Key Responsibilities
- Material Preparation: Measure, mark out, cut, and punch steel sections using saws, drills, and shears.
- Good with measurements
- Component Finishing: Grind, trim, and polish/spray fabricated steel components using angle grinders and air tools.
- Assisting Production: Move heavy steel parts around the shop floor using overhead cranes, slings, or forklifts.
- Workshop Upkeep: Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organized to maintain safety standards.
- Safety Compliance: Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company health and safety rules
- Experience: Previous work in a metal fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing workshop - Desirable
- Basic Welding skills - Desirable
- Confident with heavy lifting and manual handling and standing for long shifts
- Switched on - willing to learn
- Able to work in a busy environment
- Tool Knowledge: Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
- Team Player: Willingness to help other fabricators and pitch in with general labour tasks
