£42,500- £44,500 per annum

Location: Edinburgh Airport

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:30
  • On-call rotation: Every 5th week, or as required to support operational needs.

Workshop Supervisor / Workshop Controller- The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Automotive Workshop Supervisor to lead our workshop and airside operations at Edinburgh Airport.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong mechanical background who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will lead a team of technicians, drive operational performance, and ensure exceptional service delivery across the operation.

Workshop Supervisor / Workshop Controller -Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, motivate, and develop workshop, mobile and airside maintenance teams.
  • Plan and allocate daily workloads to maximise productivity and achieve operational targets.
  • Ensure all servicing, maintenance and repair work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company procedures and airport regulations.
  • Carry out quality inspections and provide coaching and technical support to technicians.
  • Maintain accurate workshop documentation, maintenance records and system updates.
  • Manage workshop tooling, equipment registers and asset records.
  • Raise and authorise parts purchase orders in line with company procedures.
  • Support employee performance, attendance management and ongoing development.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality management systems and ISO standards.
  • Deputise for the Operations Manager when required.

Workshop Supervisor / Workshop Controller About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • LGV Level 3 qualification (minimum requirement).
  • Previous experience supervising a vehicle maintenance workshop or engineering operation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
  • Experience working within KPI and SLA-driven environments.
  • Good IT skills and experience using workshop management systems.
  • A sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and quality standards.
  • The ability to make informed decisions, solve problems and remain calm under pressure.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
