Due to continued growth, KBM are recruiting a motivated and reliable Workshop Technician to join our client in Montrose.
The Role
As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and preparation of rental equipment to ensure it meets company and customer requirements. You will play a key role in supporting workshop operations while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, maintain, and repair rental equipment.
- Prepare equipment for mobilisation and customer use.
- Carry out function testing and quality checks in accordance with company procedures.
- Diagnose faults and undertake corrective maintenance.
- Complete maintenance records and workshop documentation accurately.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the workshop and yard.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of equipment when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational efficiency.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or workshop technician role.
- Strong practical and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures and documentation.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working within the oil and gas, energy, engineering sectors.
- Forklift licence
- Overhead crane
- Relevant engineering or mechanical qualification (SVQ, NVQ, HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent).
