Due to continued growth, KBM are recruiting a motivated and reliable Workshop Technician to join our client in Montrose.

The Role

As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and preparation of rental equipment to ensure it meets company and customer requirements. You will play a key role in supporting workshop operations while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain, and repair rental equipment.
• Prepare equipment for mobilisation and customer use.
• Carry out function testing and quality checks in accordance with company procedures.
• Diagnose faults and undertake corrective maintenance.
• Complete maintenance records and workshop documentation accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within the workshop and yard.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of equipment when required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational efficiency.

Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience in a mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or workshop technician role.
• Strong practical and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and documentation.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience working within the oil and gas, energy, engineering sectors.
• Forklift licence
• Overhead crane
• Relevant engineering or mechanical qualification (SVQ, NVQ, HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent).
