We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Workspaces Lead (Maternity Cover) to join our Safety, Health, Assurance and Workspaces team at South Yorkshire Housing Association, based within the Sheffield City Centre.
The role is an important part of the head office day-to-day operations delivering maintenance, services, and management of the Workspaces Team. We’re looking for someone with experience within facilities and thrives to continuously improve the quality of compliances and safety regulations providing the best environment for all our people to work.

More about the role:
Reporting to the Head of Compliance and H&S, this role will lead and manage the Safety, Health, Assurance and Workspaces Team. This role includes line management responsibilities for the Safety, Health, Assurance and Workspaces Assistant and Welcome Point (Reception) Administrator, ensuring the effective delivery of hard and soft services and front-of-house operations within the head office.
Responsibilities will include
- Effective management and monitoring of departmental budgets, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and deliver value for money.
- Providing excellent facilities management across our Workspaces, supporting and delivering the organisation vision and values.
- Monitoring facilities and assets within the office, leading quality inspections and ensuring prompt and appropriate action is taken to resolve issues.
- Acting as a key point of contact between the organisation and tenants within Head Office, maintaining positive and professional relationships.
- Maintaining accurate health and safety compliance records and ensuring compliance to relevant policies and procedures.
- Supporting events held within our Workspaces, undertaking risk assessments and ensuring a safe and welcoming environments for all attendees.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues across all locations, providing advice, guidance, and support on workspace and facilities-related matters.
- Managing relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure high standards of service delivery.

Who you are:
We are looking for someone who demonstrates excellent people skills, the confidence to take ownership, and the ability to build strong relationships across teams, the wider organisation, and our tenants. Ideally, you will have experience in facilities management, a good understanding of health and safety requirements, and previous people management experience.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience coordinating a workspace and facilities services to create a positive and engaging environment for our people across the head office.
- Display strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage facilities, repairs, maintenance and compliance activities and documents effectively.
- Be confident using Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Be collaborative, building positive relationships with colleagues, tenants, customers and external contractors
- Manage assets, projects and planned maintenance activities, ensuring work is delivered on time.
- Be flexible and adaptable, embracing change and identifying opportunities to continuously improve the workspace experience and environment.
- Be committed to promoting our culture, values and wellbeing through the delivery of excellent workspaces.
- Have a passion for customer service with colleagues and customers within the organisation, being able to take on feedback and action appropriate feedback.
- Be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, balancing operational demands while maintaining a high standard of service.
