Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant - Semi-Formal Classroom

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to support within a semi-formal classroom in a specialist SEN setting in Warrington.

This is a general classroom support role working closely with the class teacher and wider support team to help pupils access learning through a combination of structured activities, practical tasks, communication support and sensory-based learning.

The successful candidate will need to be patient, adaptable and comfortable supporting younger pupils with a range of additional needs. The role will involve helping pupils engage with learning, follow classroom routines, develop communication and independence, and take part in individual and small-group activities.

Experience within SEN would be beneficial, particularly with pupils with autism, MLD, SLD or communication needs, although candidates from care, support work, nursery or mainstream primary backgrounds may also be suitable.
