Yard / Warehouse Operative Location: Glasgow Salary: Up to £30,000 Employment Type: Permanent / Full time About the Client Simon Acres Group LTD are representing a well-established supplier within the building materials sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business known for its strong customer service, safety-focused culture, and commitment to operational excellence. About the Role This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key part in the day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring stock is received, stored, picked, and loaded accurately and efficiently while supporting a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and store goods accurately in the correct warehouse or yard locations.
  • Prepare customer orders in line with sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
  • Sign for deliveries and report any damaged or broken stock.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock control activities.
  • Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organised, and safe.
  • Carry out daily checks on forklifts and other handling equipment, ensuring they remain in safe working condition.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
  • Build positive relationships with customers at collection and returns points.
  • Support stocktaking activities and work overtime when required.
Requirements / Skills
  • Valid Forklift Licence.
  • Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic IT competency and accurate data entry skills.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Previous warehouse or yard experience is advantageous.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to work independently when required.
