Role: Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Kirklees - WF12

Contract Type: Fixed Term – Part time

Start Date: September 2026 

End Date: December 2026

Trust Education are recruiting on behalf of a nurturing primary school in the WF12 area for a supportive and experienced Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fixed term role starting in September, 2 days a week offering a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced Key Stage 1 team.

The Role:

• Providing 1-1support, ensuring the pupils needs are met in line with their individual learning plan and following EHCPs
• Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Helping to maintain an organised classroom and prepare resources for lessons
• Promoting inclusion and ensuring all students feel valued and supported

The Ideal Candidate will:

• Be experienced working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary setting
• Display a patient, caring and empathetic approach
• Be reliable, supportive and able to work successfully as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
