Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of upper KS2 and confident supporting pupils with additional needs?
Empowering Learning are working with a Manchester primary school seeking a Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a varied role which will involve supporting the class teacher with general classroom learning, while also providing targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support.
The Opportunity
You will become an important part of the Year 5/6 team, helping pupils make progress academically while ensuring those who require additional support receive the right level of intervention.
Your responsibilities are likely to include:
- Supporting pupils across the Year 5/6 curriculum.
- Working 1:1 with pupils who require additional support.
- Delivering small-group interventions in areas such as English and Maths.
- Supporting pupils with SEN to access the wider curriculum.
- Working alongside the class teacher to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Helping pupils develop independence and confidence.
- Supporting classroom routines and providing general TA assistance throughout the school day.
Who We're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within KS2, particularly Years 5 and 6, and be confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
You don't need to be a specialist SEN practitioner, but you should be comfortable providing 1:1 support, managing small groups and adapting your approach to suit individual pupils.
Strong communication skills, reliability and a positive attitude are essential.

Pay: £475-£575 per week
