Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated Year 6 Intervention Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the CF11 area of Cardiff, starting in September.
This role will focus on supporting Year 6 pupils through targeted intervention sessions, helping children build confidence and make progress ahead of their transition to secondary school. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver small group and 1:1 support, particularly in English and Maths.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver targeted intervention sessions to Year 6 pupils.
- Support children who require additional help to reach age-related expectations.
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to improve attainment and confidence.
- Monitor and record pupil progress.
- Assist class teachers in preparing resources and adapting learning activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
- Experience supporting literacy and numeracy interventions is desirable.
- A patient, proactive and encouraging approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential.

This is a term-time only position, offering excellent work-life balance with approximately 12 weeks of school holidays per year, including:
- Summer holidays
- Christmas break
- Easter holidays
- Half-term breaks throughout the academic year
