Are you passionate about helping children thrive? Do you love creating fun, engaging activities that build confidence, friendships and lasting memories?

Action for Carers Surrey is looking for two enthusiastic Young Carers Engagement Coordinators to join our Engage and Connect Service. These are exciting opportunities to make a real difference to the lives of young carers aged 5–12 by delivering inspiring activities, peer support and wellbeing opportunities across Surrey.

Young carers often take on caring responsibilities at home that can impact their social lives, education and wellbeing. Our role is to give them the chance to relax, have fun, build resilience and connect with others who understand their experiences.

About the Role

As a Young Carers Engagement Coordinator, you’ll plan and deliver a varied programme of weekend, holiday and community-based activities, creating safe, welcoming spaces where young carers can simply be children.

You’ll build meaningful relationships with young carers and their families, work closely with schools and community partners, and help identify and engage hidden young carers who may benefit from our services.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role for someone who is energetic, creative and has experience working directly with children aged 5–12.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children in a professional setting such as a school, youth club, childcare provision or play scheme
  • Can confidently plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities
  • Understands safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
  • Can build positive relationships with children and families
  • Is organised, adaptable and able to manage a varied workload
  • Shares our values of Focus, Inclusion, Respect and Excellence
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle

Why Join Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, passionate team.  You’ll play a key role in delivering a vibrant programme of activities and experiences that have a genuine impact on young carers’ lives.

With an exciting schedule of summer events already underway and a packed programme planned through to the end of the year, we’re looking for people who can join us as soon as possible and help make these opportunities a success.

Our Benefits Include:

  • Generous annual leave – 28 days plus Bank Holidays for full‑time colleagues, rising to 31 days with length of service.
  • Company sick pay from day one, because your wellbeing matters.
  • Paid carers’ leave, recognising and supporting those with caring responsibilities.
