Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of our client for two dedicated Youth Development Workers to join a supported accommodation service supporting young people aged 16–25.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, helping young people develop the confidence, resilience, and life skills needed to live independently and achieve their goals.
The RoleAs a Youth Development Worker, you will provide person-centred support to young people, empowering them to overcome challenges and move towards independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16–25.
- Develop, implement, and review individual support and action plans.
- Complete and maintain risk assessments and risk management plans.
- Support tenancy sustainment and housing-related matters.
- Assist with benefits applications, including Universal Credit, PIP, and Housing Benefit.
- Help young people develop budgeting and money management skills.
- Support access to education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies and support services.
- Prepare young people for successful move-on and independent living.
- Deliver creative, flexible, and person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
We're looking for passionate individuals who are committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
You will ideally have:
- Experience engaging with and supporting young people.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Knowledge of emotional wellbeing and mental health challenges affecting young people.
- Experience creating and reviewing support plans.
- An understanding of risk assessment and risk management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
