Youth Mental Health Support Worker

Axcis Education

In close partnership with a leading college based with campuses both in Bristol and Stroud, I am currently recruiting for a Youth Mental Health Support Worker for both sites to start in September, particularly supporting their departments that cater for students with more complex social and emotional mental health needs (SEMH). The college offers a unique and inclusive education for students and are looking for a final team member in both departments who can support the pupils in their education and on a pastoral basis also.

This college's emphasis on finding the right person is above all else, they really need the support worker to understand their students and to become a stable, reliable and supportive partnership based on human connection, interests and understanding. There is not a one size fits all and the best Youth Support Workers come from a variety of backgrounds. Here's just a few of the best examples:

•     Graduates: especially art, drama, psychology and criminology

•     Youth leaders

•     Support workers

•     Sports coaches

The class sizes are relatively small  - between 8-15 in each, however you will have a great deal of support from the teachers and other support staff. There is a brilliant sense of humour among staff and students' progress is determined on all aspects of development rather than just exam results.

If you want to be a part of changing lives and you think you are the right fit, please get in touch immediately - I look forward to your hearing from you!
