About the School
- A specialist school supporting children and young people aged 4-16 years.
- Their pupils have a range of additional and co-existing needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Behavioural and emotional needs
- Vulnerability and complex individual circumstances
- We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our dedicated team.
As a Youth Worker, you will:
- Support children and young people with their emotional, social and behavioural development.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills.
- Provide individual and group support based on each young person's needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop appropriate coping strategies.
- Support pupils who may experience anxiety, emotional dysregulation or challenging behaviour.
- Take part in activities that promote communication, social skills, confidence and wellbeing.
- Follow individual support plans and contribute to pupils' wider development.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Is patient, calm and understanding.
- Has excellent communication and listening skills.
- Can remain calm and professional when faced with challenging situations.
- Understands that every young person is an individual and may need a different approach.
- Is able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
