What does a Machine Operator do?
Machine Operators set up, run and monitor production machinery — loading materials, checking output against specification, clearing faults and carrying out basic maintenance. Most roles train on the job, though experience with a particular process such as CNC, injection moulding, printing or packing lines is often asked for. Day and night rotations and four-on-four-off shifts are common in manufacturing.
