2D/3D BIM Designer

An established specialist contractor is looking for an experienced 2D/3D BIM Designer to join its growing design team.
The business delivers technically complex hard-metal roofing, flat roofing, cladding and façade packages across a wide range of UK projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of multiple live schemes and play a key role from design development through to construction.
The Role
You will produce and coordinate high-quality Revit models, construction drawings and technical information, ensuring designs are accurate, compliant, buildable and delivered in line with project programmes.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, project teams and internal departments to resolve design issues and keep projects moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed Revit models and construction drawings.
- Manage design information across multiple live projects.
- Develop architectural intent into practical construction solutions.
- Coordinate drawings from subcontractors and other trades.
- Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.
- Review product data and ensure designs meet specification and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate information required for Building Control approval.
- Lead design meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Monitor design deliverables against project programmes.
- Maintain accurate design records in line with ISO 9001.
- Provide technical support throughout the design and construction phases.
- Complete site surveys and prepare progress, quality and compliance reports.
- Keep up to date with building regulations, industry standards and technical guidance.
About You
You will ideally have at least five years’ design experience within hard-metal roofing, flat roofing, cladding or façades, together with a strong working knowledge of Revit.
You should also have:
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Previous experience producing roofing, cladding or façade drawings is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of construction detailing and BIM workflows.
- Strong technical and construction knowledge.
- A proven ability to deliver accurate design information.
- Knowledge of Approved Document B and NHBC requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confidence presenting technical solutions to clients and project teams.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience using document-management platforms such as 4Projects or Aconex would be advantageous. A construction or design-related HNC, HND or degree would also be beneficial but is not essential.
