To safely and efficiently operate company 3.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne vehicles to deliver and collect raw materials, finished products, tooling and components between TBE Precision Sheet Metal Ltd, customers, suppliers and subcontractors. The role is responsible for ensuring deliveries and collections are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with applicable road transport requirements, company procedures, quality controls, environmental controls and occupational health and safety requirements. The role also supports warehouse, dispatch and production activities where required.
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Category C1 entitlement allowing operation of 7.5 tonne vehicles.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification (where legally required).
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous delivery driving experience.
- Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills.
- Ability to complete transport documentation accurately.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties
- Safely operate company 3.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne vehicles in accordance with UK road traffic legislation and company procedures.
- Complete scheduled deliveries and collections accurately and on time.
- Transport sheet metal components, fabricated assemblies, raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.
- Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
- Plan routes efficiently to maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise delays.
- Obtain delivery signatures and maintain accurate transport documentation.
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries and collections as required.
- Represent the company professionally when visiting customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Vehicle Compliance & Checks
Complete daily vehicle defect checks before use.Inspect tyres, lights, mirrors, brakes, fluid levels, security of loads, and vehicle condition. Ensure the vehicle remains roadworthy and legally compliant. Report defects, vehicle damage, accidents, or maintenance requirements immediately. Ensure vehicle servicing and inspection schedules are maintained. Maintain clean and professional vehicle standards.
Loading & Unloading
Safely load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment and safe working practices. Verify goods against delivery notes, works orders, and collection documentation. Check products for damage before loading and after delivery. Assist with packing, securing, and protecting loads. Ensure products are handled carefully to prevent customer complaints or damage.
Warehouse & Production Support
Assist with goods-in, dispatch, and stock movement activities when not driving. Support warehouse organisation and housekeeping activities. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries at TBE.
Min 40 hours per week
Core Hours 0730-1620 Mon - Thu 0730-1345 Fri
Flexibility is required. Some earlier starts and later get backs expected.
