Account Manager - Freight

Location: Burton upon Trent (Office Based)

Are you passionate about logistics, customer service, and building strong client relationships? An established and growing international logistics and freight forwarding company is looking for an experienced Road Freight Account Manager to join its team in Burton upon Trent.

As a Road Freight Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts and ensuring road freight operations run efficiently from booking through to successful delivery.

• Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, ensuring excellent service and long-term client relationships.
• Monitor account performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
• Analyse financial and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate customer shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
• Maintain high service standards across existing accounts.
• Select the most suitable carriers and hauliers to maximise service levels and profitability.
• Support the onboarding and integration of new customer business.
• Work closely with internal departments including Operations, Customs, Transport, and Finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify commercial opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with customers, including occasional site visits where required.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience within road freight, transport, or freight forwarding.
• Excellent customer service and account management skills.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• The ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.
• A proactive and commercial approach to problem-solving.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional service.

• Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
