An established and growing international manufacturing business is seeking a qualified Accountant to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation and contributing to the continued success of a multi-entity business.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the production of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory compliance activities, and business partnering support, while working closely with colleagues across the wider finance function and overseeing one team member.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Provide business partnering support and financial insight to operational and senior stakeholders.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure robust financial controls are maintained.
Review and investigate financial discrepancies, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
Reconcile key profit and loss accounts, including sales, cost of sales, and inventory movements.
Prepare accruals, prepayments, and other month-end accounting adjustments.
Maintain the fixed asset register, including leased assets.
Review payroll calculations and ensure accuracy of related financial records.
Manage payment runs and salary payments.
Calculate incentive schemes, commissions, and other variable remuneration payments.
Ensure compliance with VAT and relevant statutory reporting requirements.
Support the preparation and coordination of audit information throughout the year.
Review customer invoice queries and authorise credit adjustments where appropriate.
Assist with finance system improvements, testing, and process development initiatives.
Review rebate calculations and accruals.
Support wider finance projects and continuous improvement activities across the business.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experienced in producing management accounts to strict deadlines.
- Skilled in financial reconciliations, reporting, and financial control environments.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets and complex spreadsheets.
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Confident communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with international entities or overseas subsidiaries.
- Previous involvement in audit preparation and responding to auditor requests.
- Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, or international trading environments.
- Additional language skills, particularly French.
