Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their finance team and support the day-to-day running of the finance function.



The Role

As Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently

  • Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations and resolving invoice queries

  • Preparing payment runs and supporting the Accounts Payable function

  • Posting bank transactions and carrying out daily bank reconciliations

  • Assisting with credit control and maintaining accurate customer accounts

  • Supporting month-end processes, including journals and account reconciliations

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity within the finance system

  • Assisting with VAT and CIS administration where required

  • Providing administrative support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team

  • Supporting continuous improvements across finance systems and processes



The Ideal Candidate

The successful Accounts Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, or Accounts Administrator role

  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be advantageous

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines

  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

  • Experience within construction or a project-based environment would be beneficial but is not essential
