ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an Accounts Administrative Assistant to support our finance and administration function, helping to keep accounts accurate and up to date while assisting with a variety of general office tasks. This is a varied role suited to someone organised, numerate, and comfortable juggling several tasks at once — from finance processes through to booking travel and supporting the wider office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Finance & Accounts

  • Carry out regular bank reconciliations, ensuring records are accurate and up to date
  • Chase outstanding invoices and follow up with customers/suppliers on overdue payments
  • Process and log incoming and outgoing invoices accurately
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
  • Support month-end processes as required
  • Help resolve queries relating to invoices, payments, and account discrepancies

Administration

  • Arrange hotel bookings and travel arrangements for staff as required
  • Provide general administrative support across the office, including filing, data entry, and correspondence
  • Answer and direct phone calls and emails relating to accounts queries
  • Maintain organised, accurate records and documentation
  • Support the wider team with ad hoc administrative tasks as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

  • Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or administration role
  • Experience using Sage 50 (or similar accounting software)
  • Good numeracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook

Desirable

  • Experience with bank reconciliation processes
  • Experience chasing invoices/credit control
  • Experience arranging travel or hotel bookings for colleagues
  • AAT qualification (or working towards)

You Are

  • Reliable and trustworthy, given the financial nature of the role
  • Proactive, with a can-do approach to a varied workload
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team
  • Friendly and professional when liaising with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
  • Adaptable, happy to pick up general admin tasks alongside core accounts duties
