Axon Moore are delighted to be recruiting for a brand-new Accounts Assistant position on behalf of a growing business that is continuing to invest in its finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their skills within a supportive environment that offers genuine progression opportunities. The role will provide exposure to a broad range of transactional finance duties, alongside involvement in month-end processes and wider finance activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations while building the skills and experience needed to progress your career.
 
Location: Remote - option to work from Central Manchester office one day a week
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 + Study support for ACCA or CIMA.

Main duties:
  • Process high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform regular bank, supplier and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies where required.
  • Support both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity across finance systems.
  • Support month-end processes, including reconciliations, journals, accruals and reporting activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of management information and finance reports.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve finance-related queries.
  • Support continuous improvements to finance processes and procedures.
  • Provide general support to the wider finance team as required.
Candidate specification:

This role would suit an ambitious Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant looking to take the next step in their career within a business that can offer long-term development opportunities. 
  • A minimum of 18 months' experience within a varied Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role.
  • Experience working across transactional finance activities, including invoicing and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • A genuine desire to progress and develop a long-term career within finance.
