ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join an established manufacturing business, supporting the day-to-day running of its finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience who enjoys working with figures, building strong working relationships and ensuring financial processes run smoothly. You will support the wider finance team across sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, reconciliations and general finance administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Manage credit control activities, monitor outstanding payments and maintain customer credit limits.
- Carry out bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid in line with agreed terms.
- Maintain accurate customer and supplier account records.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and maintain accurate financial information.
- Provide general finance and accounts administration support to the wider team.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar accounts-based position.
- A good understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control processes.
- Experience of bank reconciliations and processing payments.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
- Good numerical, organisational and time-management skills.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with customers and suppliers.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- A competitive salary of £28,500–£30,000 per annum.
