Vitae Financial Recruitment is working with an education trust in North London to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join its finance team on a temporary basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on accounts payable experience who has previously used PS Financials (now IRIS Financials) and can hit the ground running in a busy finance environment.
The Role
Working within the finance team, you will support the day-to-day purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently and supplier accounts are maintained.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and matching them to purchase orders.
- Checking invoices for accuracy, authorisation and correct coding.
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
- Responding to supplier queries and resolving invoice issues.
- Supporting payment runs and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assisting the wider finance team with general finance administration as required.
About You
To be considered, you must have previous experience using PS Financials / IRIS Financials, alongside a solid understanding of accounts payable processes.
You will also have:
- Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to processing financial information.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Good communication skills when dealing with suppliers and colleagues.
- The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a small finance team.
- Experience working within a school, education setting or Multi-Academy Trust would be advantageous.
The Details
- Location: North London, Edmonton
- Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Pay: £15.13 per hour plus £1.83 rolled-up holiday pay (£16.96 per hour in total)
- Contract: Temporary until Christmas, with the potential for a longer-term or permanent opportunity
- Working arrangement: Fully office-based, with free parking
- Start date: Immediate
Please note that any permanent opportunity is expected to be full-time, term-time only, with school holiday periods unpaid.
