We are working with a well-established and highly respected accountancy practice who are looking to appoint an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) who enjoys managing client relationships, leading teams, and delivering high-quality advisory services.
The Role
As an Accounts & Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, providing strategic guidance across both accounting and tax matters. You will also play a key role in leading and developing a team, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a main point of contact
- Leading client meetings and providing tailored accounting and tax advice
- Reviewing accounts and tax returns to ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
- Overseeing workflow, allocating tasks and ensuring deadlines are met
- Maintaining high standards across client deliverables, including quality and accuracy
- Supporting year-end reporting processes (e.g. P11Ds, ATED, Form 42)
- Driving process improvement and efficiency through use of systems and technology
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Leading, mentoring and developing junior team members
- Ensuring all work meets regulatory and ethical standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Have experience managing a client portfolio within practice
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
- Be confident reviewing work and ensuring compliance
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be comfortable using accounting software (ideally Xero, Sage or similar)
- Have previous experience supervising or mentoring staff (preferred) [
