Job Title: Administrator

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. 37.5 hours

Location: Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS FT

Trust Location: Opal Centre, Tickhill Road Site, Doncaster, DN4 8QN

Contract Type: Temporary for 3 months.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • To help scrutinise the detention papers, under the supervision of the MHA Administrator, to ensure that the Trust is detaining people in a lawful manner.
  • To process and input the Mental Health Act data into the Trust’s electronic patient record (systmOne) complying with all data protection guidance and Mental Health Act processes.
  • To notify, in writing, all the relevant people in respect of a detention under the Mental Health Act including, where consent is given, the patients nearest relative.
  • To arrange, with the Mental Health Act Administrator, the processing of appeals to the Hospital Managers within the appropriate timeframes.
  • To ensure that the patient appeals / MHTs are appropriately held either virtually or face to face complying with the rules laid down by the Mental Health Tribunal Service and that you are available on the day to assist with any enquires or queries from both the panel members or staff.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.  
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  • Previous experience of working in an admin role.
  • Previous experience of using Microsoft office packages.
  • Previous experience of office procedures, i.e. filing, photocopying, message taking, typing.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
