Agricultural Service Technician

Location: Retford

Are you a skilled mechanical engineer, fitter or technician looking for a varied field-based role with a leading agricultural machinery business? We are seeking an Agricultural Service Technician to join our busy Service Department, carrying out maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of industry-leading agricultural equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with agricultural, plant, HGV, automotive, construction or mechanical engineering experience who are looking to develop their skills through specialist manufacturer training and long-term career progression.

The Role

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing agricultural machinery both at our depot workshop and on customer sites throughout the local area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repairs on agricultural machinery.
  • Attending customer farms and premises to carry out breakdown repairs and maintenance work.
  • Advising customers on machinery operation and optimisation techniques.
  • Completing all service documentation and reports accurately and on time.
  • Carrying out pre-delivery inspections and set-up of new and used equipment.
  • Supporting colleagues and service specialists where required.
  • Maintaining excellent customer service standards and representing the business professionally at all times.
  • Participating in ongoing manufacturer and product training to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Mechanical, electrical or agricultural engineering experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • A professional and positive attitude.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Previous experience working with agricultural machinery would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Overtime available during busy seasonal periods, including evenings and weekends
