About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a growing AC department, working across high-end residential developments, luxury apartment blocks, commercial properties and managed estates throughout London and the Home Counties.

The role will primarily involve servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, remedial works and small installations across a varied portfolio of AC systems.

You will regularly work within high-end residential developments, where professionalism, presentation and communication with residents, concierge teams, estate managers and clients are just as important as technical ability.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on air conditioning systems.

Service, maintain and fault-find on split, multi-split, VRF and VRV systems.

Diagnose electrical, mechanical and refrigeration faults.

Carry out repairs and replacement of defective components.

Complete refrigerant leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation and refrigerant charging where appropriately qualified.

Carry out commissioning and decommissioning of AC equipment.

Attend reactive breakdowns and investigate reported faults.

Identify remedial works and provide clear recommendations to the office.

Carry out small AC installation and replacement works where required.

Complete manufacturer service checks and commissioning procedures.

Work on associated controls, thermostats, sensors and interfaces.

Liaise professionally with concierge teams, residents, estate managers and clients.

Provide clear explanations of faults and recommended solutions.

Complete detailed engineer reports, including photographs, readings and recommendations, through the company's internal system.

Ensure all paperwork is completed promptly following attendance.

Maintain a clean, professional and safe working environment.

High-End Residential Experience

The successful engineer will be comfortable working within luxury apartment developments and occupied residential properties.

This includes:

Liaising with residents and concierge teams.

Working within apartments while maintaining a professional approach.

Protecting finishes, flooring and furnishings.

Keeping work areas clean and tidy.

Working around residents and other contractors.

Understanding the importance of customer service and presentation.

Working within controlled access and booking procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Proven experience as an AC / Refrigeration Engineer.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Experience servicing and maintaining commercial and residential AC systems.

Relevant F-Gas qualification.

Full UK driving licence.

Ability to work independently and manage daily workload.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Desirable:

Manufacturer training, particularly Mitsubishi Electric & Daikin.

Experience with VRF/VRV systems.

Electrical qualifications or strong electrical experience.

Experience working with BMS and AC controls.

Experience working within high-end residential developments.

Experience with heat pumps and low-carbon technologies.

Experience carrying out small installations and remedial projects.

Full-time position.

London and Home Counties.

Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays.

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 DOE.

Call out: 1 in 8.

£150.00 per week call out allowance paid in full via expenses.

Door-to-door pay with a minimum of 4 hours paid at 1.5 rate when called out.

The Person

We are looking for an engineer who is technically capable, professional and customer-focused.

You will be representing the company within high-end residential developments, so we expect engineers to take pride in their appearance, workmanship, communication and reporting.

You should be comfortable attending a site, diagnosing a fault, explaining the issue clearly, carrying out the required works and identifying any additional remedial requirements.
