The Company
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run air-conditioning and building-services contractor that has been operating for over 40 years.
The company provides installation, maintenance, call-out and repair services across air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, heating and associated building systems.
A large proportion of its work is within the hospitality sector, supporting well-known hotel groups and restaurant chains across London.
The Role
The company is looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Service and Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team.
You will travel to sites throughout London, completing planned maintenance, attending reactive breakdowns and diagnosing faults across a variety of air-conditioning systems.
This is a customer-facing role, so you must be professional, reliable and confident communicating with clients and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on air-conditioning systems
- Attend reactive call-outs and equipment breakdowns
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and refrigeration faults
- Service, maintain and repair VRV and VRF systems
- Service and repair split and multi-split air-conditioning systems
- Complete compressor changes safely and independently
- Carry out pressure testing, vacuuming and refrigerant recovery
- Recharge systems with the correct refrigerant and quantities
- Identify replacement parts and recommend appropriate repairs
- Complete accurate service reports and job documentation
- Communicate clearly with clients, site teams and the service department
- Ensure all work complies with F-Gas regulations and relevant health and safety requirements
- Maintain a professional standard while working in live hospitality environments
Essential Requirements
- Valid F-Gas qualification
- Strong experience within air-conditioning service and maintenance
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Experience working on VRV and VRF systems
- Experience servicing and repairing split and multi-split systems
- Previous experience completing compressor changes
- Knowledge of refrigerant recovery, pressure testing, vacuuming and system charging
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable travelling throughout London
- Professional and customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on systems manufactured by Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba, Panasonic or Samsung
- Previous experience working within hotels, restaurants or other hospitality environments
- Experience attending reactive breakdowns in occupied commercial premises
