AML Analyst - Law Firm

Our client is seeking an AML Analyst to join its law firm team in Bristol. 

You will be supporting anti-money laundering and client due diligence activities across an international law firm. The role offers hybrid working, with 1–2 days per week in the office, and exposure to work across the firm's London, Hong Kong and Singapore offices.

Key responsibilities:

• Conducting client due diligence (CDD) checks on clients and matters 
• Preparing high-quality CDD risk assessments for Partner review and approval 
• Researching and verifying information relating to individuals, companies and other corporate entities 
• Using public sources and relevant databases to conduct client and matter research 
• Identifying and escalating higher-risk clients and matters to the Risk team and MLROs 
• Making recommendations regarding appropriate next steps and undertaking further research where required 
• Liaising with lawyers and fee earners to obtain information and documentation 
• Managing your own workload and following up with internal stakeholders to ensure CDD requirements are completed 
• Managing the centralised team inbox and responding to general CDD queries 
• Supporting the fair allocation of work across the team 
• Completing client and matter onboarding administration, including maintaining records within iManage and approving clients within Aderant once CDD requirements are satisfied 
• Maintaining accurate AML records and management information 

Requirements

• Previous experience in AML, CDD, KYC, compliance or a related risk environment is desirable 
• Ideally 1–2 years' relevant experience, although candidates with less experience may be considered at Junior AML Analyst level 
• Law firm experience would be preferred, although candidates from accountancy, financial services or other regulated professional services environments will also be considered 
• Good understanding of AML and CDD principles and requirements 
• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to assess information and identify potential risks 
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Highly organised with the ability to manage your own workload and competing deadlines 
• Confident liaising with lawyers and senior stakeholders 
• Proactive approach with a willingness to identify and suggest improvements
