Analytical Technician

Bedfordshire | £25,000 - £29,000 | Permanent | Mon - Fri

An exciting opportunity for a graduate, laboratory technician or early-career scientist to join a growing scientific company developing innovative technologies for the cell and gene therapy sector.

This role would suit someone with a strong grounding in analytical laboratory techniques who is looking to develop specialist skills within a supportive R&D environment. Candidates with experience of techniques such as HPLC, ELISA, ITC, SPR, spectroscopy or similar analytical methods are encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided on the specialist techniques used within the role.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing samples, reagents and buffers
  • Performing routine laboratory analyses
  • Operating analytical instrumentation following training
  • Recording and processing experimental data
  • Maintaining accurate laboratory documentation
  • Supporting laboratory maintenance and housekeeping
  • Working to SOPs, Health & Safety and COSHH procedures

Requirements

  • Qualification in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
  • Practical laboratory experience gained through university, placement or industry
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning new analytical techniques
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative scientific team
