About Rapid Fluidics:

Rapid Fluidics Ltd is a biotech Engineering Consultancy formed in 2020, solving microfluidic and point-of-care system problems for our clients

We provide a design and rapid-production consultancy service to customers with a need for microfluidic systems. We utilise our novel way to rapidly and accurately produce prototype microfluidic test cards, offering companies developing microfluidic products a range of fluidic building blocks, and a much faster iteration cycle through designs.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Application Engineer to support our commercial activities and act as a key point of contact for customers. This role has been created to provide dedicated sales and customer support, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategic business initiatives while ensuring customers continue to receive exceptional service.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical engineering interest or background who enjoys building relationships, managing customer enquiries and supporting technical sales activities within a fast-paced and innovative environment.

You’ll be responsible for project pricing, pre-sales deal tracking, post-sales customer support and managing project partners and sub-contractors. The role is office based in Gateshead but there will be opportunities to travel in the UK and internationally to customer sites and to represent Rapid Fluidics at conferences and trade shows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales function by managing customer enquiries and sales activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate quotations, proposals and project pricing documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, becoming a trusted point of contact.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure clear communication throughout the sales process.
  • Provide ongoing support to the wider team and company leadership.
  • Follow up on opportunities and assist with account management activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with technical and engineering colleagues to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Support business development activities and identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events within the UK and potentially Europe and the US.

About You:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual who enjoys working with both people and technology.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 2-3 years' experience within a B2B sales, sales support, account management or customer-facing commercial role.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to customer service.
  • Interest in engineering, technology or life sciences.
  • Confident working collaboratively within a small and growing business.
  • Desirable Skills & Experience:Technical background, qualification or experience in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering
  • Related scientific or engineering disciplines
  • Experience supporting technical products or engineering solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot or similar platforms.
