This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining valuable hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.

You'll support people with disabilities to live independently, build confidence, achieve their goals, and enjoy life as active members of their community.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Apprentice Care Support Worker, you'll learn how to:

  • Support people with daily living activities and personal care where required
  • Provide practical, emotional and social support
  • Encourage people to take part in hobbies, interests and community activities
  • Help individuals make choices and maintain their independence
  • Support with appointments, correspondence and everyday administration
  • Work closely with families, carers and other professionals
  • Maintain accurate records using digital systems
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and promote health, safety and wellbeing
  • Treat everyone with dignity, respect and compassion

  • Flexible and able to work a rota that includes weekends, bank holidays and occasional sleep-in or waking night shifts

You don't need previous care experience – we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

About the Apprenticeship

During your apprenticeship, you'll develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for a successful career in Adult Social Care.

You'll:

  • Attend training sessions, workshops and learning activities
  • Receive regular coaching and support from experienced colleagues
  • Complete work-based assignments linked to your role
  • Learn about safeguarding, communication, person-centred support and professional practice
  • Gain practical experience supporting people in a real working environment
  • Complete an end-point assessment to achieve your qualification

Where required, support will also be provided to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Successful apprentices will be supported to apply for permanent Care Support Worker opportunities across Peabody.

Apprenticeship Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over at the start of the apprenticeship
  • Not be in full-time education
  • Have lived in the UK, EEA, Switzerland or Gibraltar for the previous three years
  • Not already hold a qualification in Adult Care or a closely related subject at the same level or above
  • Have residency status that remains valid throughout the apprenticeship
  • Be able to provide qualification equivalency evidence if qualifications were obtained outside the UK

Please Read Before Applying

This role operates on a 24/7 rota and includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays and overnight shifts. Flexibility is essential.

A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check will be required before employment can commence.
