Apprentice / Trainee - Freight forwarder

Apprentice / Trainee for a growing freight forwarding business. The freight forwarding sector within logistics is as busy as ever. A freight forwarder is the middle person between the factory where goods are made and the retailer. The freight forwarder will plan the route for the freight, for example if it comes from China, they will plan which ship to book the container on and the timings, some routes take longer but are cheaper and other routes are faster but cost more. The containers and docking times etc can also change the costs. Think of a freight forwarder like a travel agent but for freight. This freight forwarder has a opening for a trainee to be put through a apprenticeship program to learn new skills and learn the world of freight forwarding.

You will also be put through an apprenticeship program as part of this full time job. 

The role
As a trainee / apprentice, you will support the team in the preparation of the documents required for each freight item, fill out the docking documents and the onward travel bookings. You will ensure everything is loaded correctly onto the system and the invoices are sent out on time for the freight etc. This role will be your starting in a career within logistics that is always very busy, you can not import or export goods without the help of a freight forwarder. This role will include all the standard trainee / aprrentice duties

Expeirence
We are looking for a reliable person, with good knowledge of geography and maths skills, you will also be good with computers and have attention to detail regarding the forms to fill in. You will want to have a career in logistics
