Overview of Role:

As the Electrical Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across the electrical division. The position calls for a blend of technical expertise and leadership acumen, providing technical support to the engineering team, managing workflows within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Supporting the Electrical Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a commitment to Quality of Work and professional attitudes for future development of the business, creating an environment which encourages employee development, good employee relations, teambuilding, and quality standards through QS and onsite audits during and post work.

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for providing technical support and training for engineers, as well as dealing with day-to-day management of engineers, communicating Company procedures and Client specific requirements to ensure an effective and complaint workflow.

• Become an NICEIC QS and work as part of the QS team across multiple offices

• Dealing with the day-to-day operational management of operatives and providing technical support, encouragement, and training for all engineers to deliver an agreed volume of completed jobs per week, including whilst engineers are on call.

• Provide a “Technical Section” during the structured monthly toolbox talk meeting in a consistent manor across the business. This includes all the latest updates and any issues identified in completed quality checks.

• Encourage understanding of the need for Quality of Work and professional attitudes for future development of the business, creating an environment which encourages employee development, good employee relations, teambuilding, and quality standards.

• Become a key contact for clients to assist in developing relations and assisting with the resolution of problematic jobs, attend, and facilitate the resolution of customer complaints, including site visits and provide a technical overview

• Ensure the Clients contractual and specific requirements are met, and where possible surpassed.

• Communicate Company procedures and Client requirements to operatives through daily contact and structured monthly Toolbox Talks.

• Support the Electrical Manager with the training requirements and technical support for both existing engineers and the new starter induction and training processes.

• Work closely with the Head of SHEQ , act as a champion to the Sureserve Compliance Central Competency Scheme, to ensure updates and changes are communicated effectively to engineers, maintaining records, and identifying training needs.

• Ensure engineers actively participate in the collection of competence evidence and that each engineer is only allocated work which falls within their scope of competencies

• Carry out Quality Checks and Health and Safety audits to a pre-determined agreed target volume.

• Cover for the role of Electrical Manager as and when required.

• Assist in the investigation processes associated with disciplinary and grievance situations.

• Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.

• Undertake such other duties, training and / or hours of work as may be reasonably required, which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

• Ensure the cascade of information to relevant staff on all technical information known or obtained in the future.

• Ensure all health and safety requirements or legislations, including Risk Assessments and Fire Safety, are adhered to during work.

• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Company’s Health and Safety Policy.

• Ensure compliance with all company standards, policies, and procedures.

• Any other duties deemed necessary by your Line Manager

Qualifications required : 18th Edition, 2391, AM2 and NVQ .

Working hours are:

  • 5 days per week (Mon - Fri) 8am to 5pm - 40 hrs

1 hour for lunch daily, supervisory call out rota to go on doing evenings & weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise electrical and gas engineering teams, promoting a safety-first culture.

  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Resolve any arising technical and logistical issues promptly to avoid delays.

  • Deliver action plans, to ensure timely work completion, at site where allocated resources have been unable to provide corrective repair

  • Communicate effectively with clients, offering superior customer service, and managing expectations according to project timelines.

  • Multitask across diverse projects while maintaining attention to detail and resilience under pressure.

  • Lead by example, fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across teams.
