Overview
A leading renewable heating contractor is seeking an experienced ASHP Design Surveyor who can also project manage installations from initial survey through to MCS compliant completion. This role focuses on domestic Air Source Heat Pump projects within the Social Housing sector
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical surveying skills with the ability to manage full project lifecycles, ensuring designs are accurate, installations run smoothly, and all compliance, documentation and handover requirements are met under MCS.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed domestic ASHP design surveys within Social Housing properties, assessing heat loss, existing heating systems, electrical requirements and installation feasibility.
- Produce accurate MCS compliant designs, including system sizing, schematics, heat loss calculations and full technical documentation.
- Project manage installations from a technical point, ensuring all works follow the agreed design, specification and compliance pathway.
- Coordinate with installers, electricians, tenants, housing officers and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Oversee installation quality, ensuring all works meet MCS standards, manufacturer requirements and Social Housing compliance expectations.
- Manage timelines, materials, variations, risk assessments and site safety.
- Complete all MCS documentation, commissioning records and handover packs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong background in domestic heating, ideally with ASHP or low carbon heating experience.
- Proven ability to design ASHP systems or willingness to step into a design focused role with support.
- Experience working within Social Housing or similar domestic environments.
- Understanding of MCS standards, heat loss calculations and renewable heating compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain high standards of organisation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise professionally with tenants and housing providers.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Kent and London
- Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach to project delivery.
Location & Travel
- All work is based in the South East with the majority of surveys and installations located in the Kent and London areas.
- Travel is required between sites, tenant properties and project locations.
