Assembly Operative in Pontypool

Tech Connect Group are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer as they recruit number of Assembly Operative to join their busy production facility in Pontypool. 

Working as part of the Production and Assembly team, you will be responsible for assembling commercial automotive components and ensuring finished products meet the required quality and production standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Contract: Until June 2027

Pay Rate: £15.47 per hour

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Hours: Early and late rotating shifts, Monday to Friday

Shift Pattern: 6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm

The Role

As an Assembler, your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling automotive components and parts in line with defined production processes and build instructions.
• Using a range of hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
• Following technical drawings, work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
• Ensuring components are correctly fitted, aligned and secured to the required specification.
• Carrying out quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet the required standards.
• Identifying and reporting defects, discrepancies or issues during the assembly process.
• Working closely with colleagues across Production, Paint and Quality to ensure production requirements are met.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Meeting agreed production targets while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Supporting continuous improvement activities and identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working in an automotive, manufacturing, production, assembly or engineering environment.
• Experience using hand tools and/or power tools.
• The ability to follow technical drawings, work instructions and defined production processes.
• A strong eye for detail and a commitment to achieving high-quality workmanship.
• Good manual dexterity and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
• A good understanding of quality standards and the importance of right-first-time production.
• A reliable, hardworking and team-focused approach.
• The ability to work effectively to production targets and deadlines.
